The industry has moved to HTML5. Learning the web client is the correct path forward.

It is available on VMware’s old download portal (requires login), but again, this is not recommended for production or security-sensitive environments .

If you need to manage , use the VMware Host Client (ESXi’s web interface) or the vSphere HTML5 Client (via vCenter). For Windows, you should install the vSphere CLI or PowerCLI instead.

I just edited the post for people who may want to use Wine instead of Proton.
For players who do not hear the music in-game I have also added to this guide the command
winetricks directmusic
