Gexa Energy is a retail electricity provider (REP) in Texas, not a power generator. This means they do not own power plants, transmission lines, or wind farms. Instead, they buy wholesale electricity from the ERCOT grid and package it into retail plans (fixed-rate, variable-rate, free nights, etc.) for homes and businesses.
Gexa offered a plan advertised as “9.9¢/kWh” but buried in the EFL (Electricity Facts Label) was a $15–$20 monthly base charge plus a high delivery fee.
