Ghosts S02e03: Ffmpeg

I felt a chill. Not from a cholera ghost. From the cold, uncaring logic of a video encoder. The real episode (the one the humans actually made) is great. It’s funny, warm, and has a surprisingly heartfelt ending about found family.

Turns out, I had forgotten the -strict unofficial flag. Also, I was trying to re-encode a video that was already broken. The real haunting was the error message:

[libx265 @ 0x600003b28000] CRF is not supported with this preset. ghosts s02e03 ffmpeg

Has anyone else accidentally transcoded their relaxation time? Or is it just me and the ghost in my GPU? P.S. If anyone has a good preset for compressing sitcoms without making the cast look like they’re melting, my DMs are open.

A screaming, frame-dropping, codec-mangling war crime. Scene 1: The Command In my defense, "ghosts s02e03 ffmpeg" looks perfectly reasonable when you’re half asleep. I thought I was searching for a discussion thread. Instead, I pasted this into a shell: I felt a chill

I need to get something off my chest. I think I watched the wrong version of Ghosts last night.

Hetty tries to hide her secret love of singing, Thor gets jealous of a new Viking ghost, and Sasappis delivers a perfectly timed one-liner. The real episode (the one the humans actually made) is great

Let me explain. I’m a backend engineer. I have three monitors. My terminal is always open. And last night, while settling in to watch Ghosts (the excellent CBS sitcom, Season 2, Episode 3: "The Woodstone's Got Talent"), my muscle memory betrayed me.
