“Yuki,” his voice was smooth, warm, practiced. “I knew you’d find the camera. Your mother couldn’t finish the project. But you can.”
He stepped into the light. His face was ageless, smiling, but his eyes were flat—like two dead pixels on a screen. He held out a contract. It was blank except for one line at the bottom: “All rights to the subject’s reality are transferred to HEYZO Corporation upon signature.”
