1. Overview Gear Fourth is a transformation technique used by Monkey D. Luffy, combining his Gomu Gomu no Mi (Rubber-Human Fruit) paramecia abilities with Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) . After the revelation of his fruit’s true nature as a Zoan-type (Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika), Gear Fourth is understood as an intermediate stage between base rubber manipulation and the full awakening of Gear Fifth.
