These “Nobita movies” (e.g., Nobita’s Dinosaur , Nobita’s Great Adventure in the South Seas ) follow a rigid narrative formula: a mundane problem, discovery of a fantastical gateway, a journey to a parallel world or distant time, a conflict with a villain, and a return home.
