A WPL file (Windows Playlist) is an XML-based file format developed by Microsoft for use in Windows Media Player . It does not contain any audio or video data itself. Instead, it stores a structured list of file paths or URLs pointing to media files (like .mp3 , .wma , .wav , .wmv , .mp4 ), along with optional metadata such as track titles, duration, and sorting order.
