Few things are more frustrating than reaching for your Samsung Galaxy phone, seeing a missed call notification, and then discovering the caller was sent straight to voicemail. Whether you're missing calls from your boss, your doctor, or a family member, the "blocked call" issue on Samsung devices is a common but solvable problem.
Open the Contacts app → Select the person → Tap Edit (pencil icon) → Scroll down to "Send to voicemail" and toggle it off . 5. Third-Party Call Blocking Apps Are Interfering Apps like Truecaller , Should I Answer? , or carrier-specific apps (e.g., AT&T Call Protect) maintain their own block lists. samsung blocked call
Log into your carrier's app or website and look for call-blocking or spam-filter settings. Temporarily disable them to test. 8. Software Glitch or Outdated OS A rare bug in One UI (Samsung's software) or an outdated system can cause call handling to malfunction. Few things are more frustrating than reaching for
Swipe down from the top of the screen twice to open Quick Settings. Look for the Do Not Disturb icon (crescent moon). If it's blue, tap it to turn it off. The Contact Is Set to "Send to Voicemail" Samsung allows you to send specific contacts directly to voicemail without blocking them entirely. This is easy to enable by accident. Open the third-party app and check its block list. Temporarily disable the app (or uninstall it) to see if the problem stops. You can also check if the app has permission to "modify call logs" and revoke it. 6. The Caller Is Using a Hidden or Unknown Number By default, many Samsung phones block calls from "Unknown," "Private," or "No Caller ID" numbers. This is a security feature.
Open the Phone app → Tap the three dots (menu) → Settings → Block numbers . Review the list. If the caller's number appears, tap the minus (-) or delete icon next to it. 2. Smart Call / Caller ID & Spam Protection Is Too Aggressive Samsung partners with Hiya to provide built-in spam protection. It's great at blocking robocalls, but sometimes it misidentifies legitimate numbers (delivery drivers, clinics, school offices).
Phone app → Settings → Block numbers → Toggle "Block unknown/private numbers" off (if you want to receive such calls). 7. Carrier-Level Blocking (Not Your Phone) Sometimes the block isn't on your Samsung device at all. Your mobile carrier may be blocking the number due to its own spam lists or a feature you enabled (e.g., Verizon Call Filter, T-Mobile Scam Shield).
