If you’ve spent any time in audio production, video editing, or music software communities, you’ve likely seen a release group signature like Team R2R attached to cracked plugins, DAWs, and sample libraries. Alongside their releases, they sometimes include a digital certificate—often referred to as the "Team R2R certificate."
Installing an untrusted root certificate allows any program signed with that fake cert to run with elevated privileges. A future malware infection could piggyback on that trust.
