Sheldon didn’t look up. “I’m calculating the thermal decay rate of the milk. But that’s not the primary issue.”

For a long moment, the only sound was the hum of the refrigerator.

Sheldon slid off his chair, picked up the cordless phone, and began dialing. As he waited for Dr. Sturgis to answer, he turned to his mother and whispered, “If I fail at this, I’ll need a flowchart for next time.” Sheldon tilted his head
